Memory Mender

Memory Mender is a 2D Interactive Story Mobile Game. The story is about the reconnection of relationships and encourages people to revisit their loved ones. 

  

Story

The main character, Rene, can use his special mending ability to retrieve the memories stored in a postcard. Like in real life, each postcard carries memories of its sender and recipient and reminds them of where it was sent out. However, as time passes, we may not remember every detail of the time spent with our families and friends. Our recollections fade like the colours of a postcard. With the help of Rene’s unique ability, one can restore colours and memories by diving into the past and reliving precious moments.  

 

Experience

This game explores the potential of combining natural human-computer interaction (NHCI) and storytelling to provide a natural and interesting gameplay experience. Besides the fundamental touch interactions, the player needs to use different natural interactions, including visual, body articulation, voice input and speech recognition, to complete tasks and continue the story. The interactions correlate with scenarios in the story, creating an immersive experience for the player. With Memory Mender, the player will think again about travelling, relationships and reconnection.

Note: As some of the mini-games require voice input, the game may ask for the microphone access permission. Please also turn on Wi-Fi for the speech recognition function in some of the mini-games. If you choose to refuse the requests, you may not be able to complete certain tasks in this game.
